I got my second tattoo over the Thanksgiving weekend and took care of it in the same as my first. I used Aquaphor ointment and applied a very thin layer a couple times a day. After 2 days it began hurting. After a week it was red, swollen and had red lines coming out of it and had a thick scab as well as splitting, bleeding lines. I knew it was infected. I called the artist and he said I didn't take care of it properly. He told me to let it dry out for a couple days then use unscented lotion. I showed it to another artist who said the guy went too deep and my tattoo was ruined. I would have to wait at least 6 months then get a cover up. What a bummer!
