Natural Cleansers for Oily Skin

Rosewater and Lemon Juice Cleanser

Lemon adds a more astringent quality to Rosewater, which is usually used on its own as a cleanser. Lemon juice contains Vitamin B, which inhibits bacteria from growing.

Ingredients

  • ½ medium lemon
  • 100ml Rosewater Hydrolat/hydrosol

Method

  • Extract the lemon juice, add it to the Rosewater. Store in the refrigerator. You can use this in a spray bottle too. Apply twice daily. Leave to dry naturally on the skin.
  • This cleanser will clean and tone the skin and is used for oily to combination skin.

My results.

I have a combination skin type and find that this cleanser is too drying for my skin, but think it would work well on an oily skin. I prefer to use the rosewater without the lemon juice.

Fresh Milk and Tomato Juice Cleanser

This cleanser is not recommended for sensitive skin types.

Tomatoes are rich in it A, B, C, potassium and magnesium as well as antioxidants and trace elements.

This mask is actually a gentle skin peel, test it on the inside of your arm before using it on your face.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium very ripe tomato juiced (pulp removed)
  • Equivalent amount of full cream milk as tomato juice

Method

  • Mix the two ingredients together, apply to face and neck. Leave on for 10 minutes. Clean off with bottled water or a chamomile herbal infusion.
  • Should be used once per day for one week and then once a week, on a weekly basis.
  • Can only be kept in the refrigerator for 6 hours.

Strawberry Almond Oil Cleanser

This recipe is perfect for removing makeup, for cleansing and toning. The strawberries act as a gentle peel and astringent while the almond oil counterbalances the effect of the strawberries that might be too harsh on their own.

Ingredients

Method

  • Blend the strawberries together until smooth. Add the sweet almond oil and mix. Apply to the face and neck, leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with bottle water or chamomile herbal infusion.
  • Those who are allergic to strawberries can try raspberries instead.
  • This recipe can be used once daily by those with oily skin.
  • Can be kept in the refrigerator for 12 hours.
