Safe Oils at Different Ages

For babies who are younger than two months old:

Chamomile essential oil

Lavender essential oil

Yarrow essential oil

For babies who are older than six months old, you can use the above oils, as well as:

Mandarin essential oil

Neroli essential oil

For babies who are older than one year, you can use all the above oils as well as:

Calendula essential oils

Grapefruit essential oil

Tea tree oil

Before Buying your Essential Oils

When looking for essential oils for your baby:

Ensure that the oils you buy are hundred percent pure.

Mixing your Essential Oil for Baby

When mixing your essential oil with your carrier oil, you only need two drops of essential oil and two tablespoons of carrier oil.


Never apply any essential oils undiluted on your baby’s skin.

Never put undiluted essential oil in a diffuser.

Never give your baby an essential oil orally. 

Always test a specific essential oil on a small section of skin, in its carrier oil, before applying to larger areas

Add two drops of essential oil with 2 tablespoons of carrier oil and mix to create your own baby massage oil.

Past the age of two months old, 3 to 5 drops of essential oils can be added to your carrier oil.
