Lavender Essential Oil Uses

Looking for a versatile essential oil? Lavender oil is on my list of the best. Lavender oil can be used to clean and can be used on bruises and even on skin irritations. Lavender essential oil can be utilised to calm and soothe the physical body as well as the emotions.

The best ways to use lavender essential oil:

A few drops of lavender oil placed on the inside of your hands can be inhaled to calm body and mind. It has an immediate calming effect. It can be used as a sleep aid. It can be placed on a pillow at night, to help get you to sleep.

Can be used on insect bites to relieve pain and itching. The essential oil can be placed on minor burns to decrease pain, swelling and redness. You’ll be surprised to find out, lavender oil can placed on cuts and wounds to stop bleeding and even kill bacteria.

If you struggle with eczema or any dermatitis you can mix some lavender oil with any base oils such as grapeseed oil, and this can be used topically on any areas that are affected. It has anti-inflammatory properties and boosts blood circulation in the affected area. Thus reducing the swelling of Eczema and soothes the itching. Scalp psoriasis is often treated with this oil. 

It can be used to decrease motion sickness and nausea. This is good news for all pregnant ladies. Just place a few drops of lavender oil behind your ears.

Dry cracked skin is no match for lavender oil. Just rubbing a few drops on any cracked or dry skin does wonders. Great on cracked heals and elbows. 

Lavender oil is well known for its hayfever alleviating properties. Carry a bottle of this stuff around and you’ll never go home with red itchy eyes and runny nose. 

What about dandruff? Adding a few drops of lavender oil to your shampoo or conditioner will definitely help get rid of those unsightly flakes. Lavender oil is also used to prevent hair loss and to help hair grow faster.

Lavender oil is antiseptic and antifungal and can therefore be used to treat and prevent fungal infections.
