Vegetable masks and lotions are the best types of treatment for sensitive or damaged skin, because they are anti-inflammatory. Vegetables are also cooling and soothing and provide Vitamin A, which heals the skin. Vegetable masks are therefore perfect for Acne, eczema, sunburn, but can be used for cleansing and feeding the skin too.
The most popular vegetables used for skin are cabbage, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, potato, parsley and watercress.
The fresher the ingredients, the better. Organic is best!
Vegetables can be added to many other ingredients to create masks and lotions, and are often incorporated into a clay mask.
Cooked lettuce and cabbage are sometimes cooled, pureed and used as a mask. The water that they are cooked in can be applied as a lotion.
Ingredients such as potato flour are often added to masks as a thickening agent.
Avoid the use of metal bowls and mixing utensils as they might oxidise when they come into contact with your vegetable juices.

Honey and Cucumber Milk
(can only be stored for 6 hours in the refrigerator)
Peel the cucumber and remove the seeds. Puree the flesh of the cucumber. Strain the pulp through muslin cloth. Stir in the honey and milk. Apply evenly to your clean face and neck. Leave on for at least 15 minutes, rinse off with filtered water Pat dry with clean towel.
This recipes used on a regular basis will cleanse, feed, hydrate and reduce inflammation.
Yogurt and carrot juice mask
Mix all ingredients together. Apply to clean face and neck, leave on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off with filtered water Pat dry with clean towel.
This mask will feed, balance the skin’s PH, heal the skin, hydrate and prevent aging.
Clay and Cucumber Cleansing Mask
(can only be kept 8 hours in refrigerator)
This mask will cleanse, reduce inflammation, tone.
How to apply this mask
(Can be kept for 6 hours in the refrigerator)
Mix all ingredients. If too runny add more potato flour, if too thick add more carrot juice. Apply to clean face and neck, leave on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off with filtered water Pat dry with clean towel.
This mask will nourish, heal, prevent aging, balance the PH of skin.
